Roxxxtv has been given an exclusive preview of a groundbreaking and historic project. For the first time ever a project is due to be released that features 3 STRANGE MUSIC ARTISTS over 3 MNE beats masterfully created by our good friend Stir Crazy whose reputation is known across the underground. What project am I talking about? Who’s project is it? What artists are featured in this project? When’s the release date? Well, don’t worry because I’m going to tell you all about it and give you a break down of every song, the lyrics, artists, style, sound, and every who, what, when, where, why and how you need to know.
WHO
In case your senses haven’t had the pleasure of learning about J. Irja The Sexy Psycho let me give you a brief break down. J. Irja certainly lives up to her name Sexy Psycho in virtually every way. Not only is she pleasing to the eyes this girl knows how to spit like the best of ’em! Her lyrics and voice will bring you chills maybe even tears with at least one of her songs (she really does affect more than one of your senses, which I discovered during her super hype set at the 20th annual Gathering of the Juggalos).
She’s a hell of a lot more than just a pretty face! She is a force to be reckoned with in every way and she’s just getting started! Her debut album The Sexy Psycho vol 1 is one of those albums you can throw in your CD player and let play through over and over again! This album is FULL of big name artists from all over the underground such as Lil Flip, Young Wicked, Stevie Stone, LARS (King Gordy and Bizarre of D12), King Iso, King Kash, Bubba Sparxxx, and Paul Wall!!! Not only is that a major league line up for a debut album, but she was actually IN the studio with each one of them, unlike most features where it’s just bought and emailed. That to me is HUGE and shows just how powerful her music really is.
One of the thing’s that makes Sexy Psycho such a badass is she’s 100% independent! She isn’t backed by any major label, she runs and owns 100% of her company and brand. She’s 100% self-funded, writes every single line she’s ever spit on her own and is the executive producer of not only her music but also her videos. Everyone knows this industry is 90% male and for some reason, any female trying to make a name for themselves usually ends up being judged not for their talent or their lyrics, but because they’re women. Let me tell you right now, if your one of those people who think that kind of way, your only screwing yourself over because this female can spit just as fast, hard, and precise as any man out there! She is one of those women that while killing it also manages to show the utmost respect and admiration for her fellow artists at the same time. Since I’m beginning to feel like a bit of a kiss ass (even though she deserves it) let’s move on to the point of this article and why I’m writing it.
WHAT
Ladies and gentlemen let me tell you now, you simply are going to be blown away by the project she has put together called 3SM! (Get your head out of the gutter, it’s NOT an abbreviation of threesome, ha ha) it stands for ‘3 Strange Majik’ and for the FIRST TIME EVER, she has put 3 strange music artists over 3 very different MNE Stir Crazy beats. Talk About paving new lanes, this girl is doing it! But who are these artists you ask? Well, let me break it down for you song by song because I’m one of the only people who have been honored with hearing them before their release Jan 26th! I’ve been tasked with preparing you for what’s to come, so without further delay let’s get into it.
Track 1: ‘Sexy Psycho Strange Majik’ featuring the Swank Lord Joey Cool
This intro track not only opens the door to give you a taste of this project from the jump, it boots the fuckin door open and shoves it down your throat! It opens up with a Stir Crazy beat that will immediately get your head moving. The Swank Lord gives his shout out’s as the beat start’s building and it goes into the hook then he comes in smooth as hell and makes you understand just why his name is Joey Cool with a flow that’ll make your girl tremble. A sound and style lesser rappers thrive to achieve and intricate metaphors left and right (including a JG Wentworth and a superman line that you’ll miss if you blink) before it drops back into the verse. By then, you’re thinking ok, pretty dope so far, then BAM the sexy psycho comes in HARD dropping in your face, “don’t fuck with me bars!” that gives you your first hint of just why you shouldn’t underestimate this woman! One rapid-fire metaphor after another till your left with your jaw dropped yearning for more!
Track 2: ‘My Remedy’ featuring Godemis
If you’re a fan of deep inspirational ‘nothing can stop me’ songs, this one’s for you. Personally, I absolutely love songs like this one! It comes in with a piano intro that begins to send you into a relaxed state of mind before coming into the hook, and let me tell you it is one catchy verse. After listening to it I found myself with the words stuck in my head as I’m trying to concentrate on what I’m doing. It’s one of those “life is always trying to bring me down, but I’m never going to stop until I become the person I know I’m meant to be” type songs and it hits home in many ways with me. J. Irja comes in first this time with a quick tongue telling you about all the hardships she’s had to face. Not only in her personal life but the struggles of the industry and what it’s like being a woman trying to make something of herself in a mostly male industry, but she’s not gonna let any of that hold her back! She channels all of that pain and emotion into her music, because no matter who you are or what happens to you, music will always be a remedy for your pain.
After her verse that hook comes in again, filling you with “nothing can keep me down” type thoughts. Then BOOM Godemis comes in HARD and FAST spitting lightning fast bars that you just might miss if you aren’t paying attention (which is one of the reasons I enjoy Ces Cru so much). Personally I had to listen to his verse a few times because I kept catching myself trying to wrap my head around what exactly he is saying. Just like the rest of the song, he’s telling us about all the ups and downs he’s been through throughout his career but no matter what he pushed through because he knew he was meant for great things, and now he’s one of Strange Music’s most talented artists.
The main thing you should take away from this track is that no matter what hardships you fall on or what hand you were dealt, make the best of every situation and do your best to stay positive, or else that asshole voice in your head will do nothing but hold you back from becoming what you were meant to be.
BONUS: As a little extra flavor icing on this melodical cake, there’s a music video dropping for this song, with both artists schooling their verse in a record shop. Make sure u check that out when u get the chance!
Track 3: ‘World Ends’ featuring Wrekonize
THIS track just became one of my get pumped songs. It’s one of those songs that you add to your work out playlist, a real jump around party track. Stir Crazy certainly shows us he knows how to get people hype with nothing but his beats, then with a “GO HARD lets fuckin party type hook”, you’re instantly hooked on this hook. J. Irja wastes no time coming in harder than I’ve ever heard her with, in your face, “I dare you to fuck with me, I’m a mother fuckin beast and I’m more real than you’ll ever be” style bar after bar after bar! If that’s not enough for you she hits you with one metaphor after another and dropping a few of those “hey wait!” style references throughout the verse including a few nursery rhyme lines and an “oh shit jellysicle” line that would make even Tech himself say, “damn ok then!”. There’s even a Machine Gun Kelly line in there (but I’ll let you decipher that one for yourselves) before going back into the go hard get stuck in your head verse I instantly fell in love with.
Just when you think the song couldn’t get any better Wrekonize drops his verse like a ton of bricks with “ima kill this verse and this stage!” style, proving why he 100% deserves not only your respect but why Strange Music was eager to sign him. You should expect nothing less from him if you know anything about his work, be it solo or with Mayday, and if you’ve never heard of him, he quickly shows you he’s every bit of lyrical genius and master of flow as I’m saying he is with bar after bar of straight fire that’ll leave you pumped and wishing the verse was just a little longer because that “shit was dope!”. If you have a workout playlist I highly recommend adding this song to it because it definitely made me wanna see just how far I can push myself.
WHEN
3SM started taking iTunes & GooglePlay pre-orders Jan 12th, and the album drops Jan 26th. I highly recommend preordering not only because this project is sure to be a hot commodity, but because preorders come with a bundle of awesome freebies! It doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of melodic pick me up, lightning fast bar after bar of dopeness or pump you up everybody move styles, this project has at least one track you’re bound to enjoy! This groundbreaking project does something for the underground that hasn’t been seen since 2012. Unity. Why? Why what? Why am I writing this article? Why should you check out this project and all the artists involved? Why was this project put together? Well, let me tell you, because the only thing that matters in this twisted fucked up everyone for themselves world we currently live in, is the effect you have on the souls you interact with day to day. I decided to write this article because I have nothing but love and respect for J. Irja The Sexy Psycho and her crew because not only is that what they’ve shown me, but because she honestly does deserve it. Female rappers are one of the most underrated unappreciated and overlooked groups in the Hip Hop field and this girl is surely setting a standard, crusading through the underground showing that a woman can stand toe-to-toe with the men and go just as hard, if not harder. Watch out music lovers, J. Irja The Sexy Psycho is destined to make big waves in 2020 and beyond.
