Cruisin The Barrio presents a brand new series on ROX-TV called “Cruisin Rewind”. The first episode features an interview with Dr. Fink of Prince and The Revolution
Welcome back to the ROX-TV website. As always, we strive to bring the readers the latest and greatest in entertainment whenever something new drops. Well, for the first time, I’m excited to say that a brand new series has arrived which will no doubt be a great watch. I’ve been informed that the CRB’s “Cruisin The Barrio” radio show has just brought a brand program to ROX-TV and I couldn’t be more happy about it. The host of the new series, is a near and dear friend of mine, none other than the “Rude Boy” from Southwest Detroit. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, Rudy Hill will be your guide into the much anticipated, never duplicated, “Cruisin The Barrio’s Cruisin Rewind” only on ROX-TV.
The premier episode dropped and is now available for fans to digest. The show covers a wide range of interesting and thought provoking topics so the viewers are always guaranteed to enjoy the content. In first episode of the series “Cruisin Rewind” the Rude Boy talks with Dr. Fink, about the departed Legend Prince and the troubles he was having in his personal life, before his untimely death in April of 2016 from an accidental overdose of Fentanyl.

Dr. Fink, who’s real name is Matt Fink, was the keyboardist in Prince and the Revolution. Fans will remember him as the surgical mask and scrub wearing man behind the keyboard. Dr. Fink has worked with some of very best in the business including Lipps Inc, The Time, The Jets, Shock G, P. Diddy, The Rembrandts, Vanity 6, P.C. Munoz, Kris Vanderheyden, Bray, Marc Mozart, and many more.
Dr. Fink has won three Grammys Awards, three American Music Awards, and also has RIAA gold and platinum awards to his credit as well for his time and work with Prince and Revolution. As the fans may remember, Dr. Fink linked up with Prince in 1978, joining his band which later became the Revolution. The man was there when it counted and was involved with the now classic 1984 movie and album “Purple Rain”. For the first timers and newer fans, that means a lot, considering it sold more than Twenty Five Million copies world wide.
After Prince’s tragic and untimely passing, Dr. Fink reunited with The Revolution and created some material for the Netflix’s series “Wine Country” which dropped in 2019. To say that this guy has did it all would be an understatement of the highest order. The man is well travelled and highly respected. During the interview, Rudy “Rude Boy” Hill spoke with Dr. Fink about Prince and got the man’s thoughts on the situation.

Prince’s addiction was known to various insiders close to his camp and Dr. Fink recalled that Prince, who had once been opioids for hip pain, had trouble with the substance. Some of the troubles had gone back as far as the mid nineties according to Dr. Fink. “People were telling me this” Dr. Fink said to Rudy, speaking of sources from within the inner circle close to Prince. “I felt people around him, were not intervening quickly enough” he said, although he wasn’t so sure there was an easy fix.
“It would be difficult for anyone working for him to tell him no” because of the way things were at that time. Dr. Fink believed that it would have been helpful for family members to do an intervention, but during those days, Prince wasn’t close to family in such a way, where that could have transpired…leaving little room for other options. Dr. Fink talked about how hard it is to deal with that type of situation, speaking about it from personal experience, having assisted his sister in law twice back in the late nineties with similar problems.

The interview is absolutely fascinating and a must view for any fan of Prince and The Revolution, as well first timers who enjoy music related content.
