ROX-TV’s “Indie sounds from the underground” news update

At the ROX-TV website we like to give artists a chance to get their message out, especially when it comes to the indie artists. I think it’s important to lend a helping hand when you can and also help artists reach new fans whenever I have some time. I support the Indie scene and welcome anyone to reach out if they have new material dropping or just want to say hello. The following artists are working on getting out material and grinding. I can respect that, so I thought we would shine on them for a moment.

The “Indie sounds from the underground” will be a reoccurring series that features quick interviews, videos, or other information relevant to the artists. In this mini-episode, we speak with IZZ2Nice from Detroit, Syko Rich, ZomB, and Swing Dee Diablo. Support your local artists and the scene. Don’t be afraid to listen to new music, your not out anything if you do, but if you don’t….you’ll never know.

IZZ2Nice:

Can you talk about how horror movies influence your music and lyrics?
I always been a horror movie fan especially slasher films like Friday the 13th, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Scream I always liked the hype of horror movies, the build up, and suspense. My music and stage performance is like watching a horror flick from fake blood, to live acting, and skits kinda like the Fresh Prince’s “A Nightmare on my street”  mixed with Esham’s “Devil’s Groove”. I call it Hood Horror. I like to combine horror movies and make it seem like these characters teamed up. That’s what Hack Em Up 🔪 was about. I played the hood version of Michael Myers and Ace Solow played the hood version of Jason Voorhees. It was two slashers coming together to hack, stab, and slash some shit up LMAO 🔪

Can we hope to see more of this type of content in the near future?

Yesss hell yesss!!!

What are you working on right now, any new material the ROX-TV fans should be looking forward to seeing you drop?

Yes, right now I’m working on “Dining” with Jeffrey Dahmer

Can you talk about the recording process for “Hack em up”? How long did it take to put the song together?

It took a few hours to write and record it. All I did was watch battles raps and horror movies. We wanted people to feel like this is what happens when Michael Myers meets Jason Voorhees but keep it on some hood shit.  I approached it with all punch lines and decided to name all the horror movie characters, giving props to all the greats. Ace Solow and I talked about it and he approached it with storytelling, while super producer Rich Rhodes made the beat hot. We had fun in the studio, Rich Rhodes mixed it Shout out to Rich Rhodes and Ace Solow for helping me make such a dope track!

Syko Rich:

Off the new drop coming this summer called “Tales from the blunt”. I checked it out and I dig the sounds. Syko has got a good response so far, clocking in over two thousand views on YouTube in the two weeks. The track is a slow down jam that has some serious lyrics, that jogs along at just the right speed. We will be looking for the drop this summer. Until then, his singles can be found on YouTube.

ZomB:

ZomB reached out to ROX-TV and told us about his latest drop “Gangsta”. So here it is. He’s got some movement on YouTube for an Indie cat, with almost 3.5k views since the end of March.

Swing Dee Diablo:

This is a promo skit for the brand new project by Swing Dee Diablo which is called the “King of Skulls” dropping May 14th, 2021. Make sure to check him out if you get a chance.
