ROX-TV’s continuing coverage of the Gathering of the Juggalos 2022 in Legend Valley keeps rolling. Tonight we speak with ShaggyTheAirhead!

Once again ROX-TV is back and bringing you more coverage of the Gathering of the Juggalos 2022 event going down in Ohio next month. The greatest family reunion on earth needs no introduction, but if you’re Amish…perhaps from Blefuscu or Lilliput…then we will catch you up to speed. Each year the Juggalo Nation assembles for an annual celebration of life, culture, and the music that they live their lives to. Some believe this assembly is a great party and they certainly wouldn’t be wrong. But it is much more than that and the amazing run over the last two decades speaks volumes to the enduring legacy of the Insane Clown Posse and the world that they created.

These celebrations are symbolic, as well as entertaining for more reasons than one, but I will keep it simple this evening. We don’t have time to get lost in the weeds right now, although I do enjoy doing so from time to time. No, tonight we have a very special guest in the house and we, at the ROX-TV website are thrilled to have him here. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, the homie shaggytheairhead is here and ready to answer a few questions that we have about the upcoming party in Legend Valley.

Don’t miss the Gathering of the Juggalos 22, going down at Legend Valley in O-H-I-O. The homie ShaggyTheAirhead will be there chopping it up. See you there…

I would just like to add before we start, shaggytheairhead’s work on Ding Ding Doll (Insane Clown Posse: Yum Yum’s Lure, track 5 released by Psychopathic Records February 12th, 2021) was amazing. That song captivates me in a way that few songs do or can these days. Juggalos and Juggalettes who are familiar with shaggytheairhead’s work will no doubt be hip to the fact that he was all over the Yum Yum Bedlam release as well, with his work featured on tracks including “Clown Drippin” (music by shaggytheairhead), “Queens” (music by Dervereaux and shaggytheairhead), “Fuck Regret” (music by shaggytheairhead), “Insomnia” (music by shaggytheairhead), “The Drunk and the Addict” (music by shaggytheairhead), and “Bitch I’m fine” (music by shaggytheairhead). His work with Ouija, Darby O’trill, DJ Chunk, and many others also populate the landscape.

I believe that we have entered a new era in the Juggalo world, and the fresh blood is coming into their own. I can’t stress enough how exciting it is, especially from the point of a view of an old school Juggalo like myself. The new generations are picking up the banner and leading the charge into the future. To know that the culture is in good hands is exciting to me and also important for the continuation of this “thing of ours”. So, without further to do, let’s jump into this interview…

Welcome to the ROX-TV website. I understand you will be hosting this year at the GOTJ22 in Ohio. Can you talk a little bit about what it means to have been selected to host the mainstage? That’s a pretty big honor.

“It means a lot knowing people I look up to want me involved in their legacy on this magnitude. There’s no amount of words that can truly describe the positive impact this has had on my life. I’m beyond thankful and honored to be a part of the Gathering this year”

What is your favorite memory or moment from the GOTJ’s ?

ShaggyTheAirhead, Darby, and the homie Scum posting up. Some of the hardest working cats in the Underground today.

“My favorite moment was by far last year, being on stage with my brother Ouija Macc during his performance. I had goosebumps damn near that entire set. I am so proud of him”.

If you had one piece of advice for the Juggalos and Juggalettes attending their first GOTJ this year, what would it be?

“My advice would be to really enjoy the smaller things going on. Yeah, the main stage acts are phenomenal but the true magic to me is the laughs and smiles you find throughout the gathering”.

Is there anything you’d like to talk about or add in regard to the GOTJ this year?

“I have been putting in overtime hours since I got home from last year’s Gathering to prepare for the lazy and crazy merch booth. I am going to try to be back there as much as I can, I look forward to meeting you all, MCL”.

(Author’s Note: I think shaggytheairhead made a great point about enjoying the smaller things at the GOTJ. Speaking from experience, the mainstages are obviously focal points of activity, but I would say the “extended magic” of the GOTJ is the expansive layout of the property at Legend Valley and the interactive atmosphere that seeps from every twist and turn of the place. To be at the Gathering is like entering into a cartoon world of the highest order.

Do not miss one of the hottest shows to grace the month of August. Ouija, ShaggyTheAirhead, DJ Chunk and more will be on hand to celebrate the release of “Grin to the Grave”. Get your tickets now.

Do you remember when Willy Wonka took the lucky winners of the golden ticket contest to his factory? After a grand entrance, he turns them loose inside his building of dreams, where shit is made out of edible candy and sweets, the grounds feature the most unusual and interesting characters (Ommpa Loompa’s), and there seems to be no end to the adventure.

Well, my friends, that’s exactly how the GOTJ is. Legend Valley has a unique layout which provides a perfect backdrop for exploring. When you get there, you find yourself surrounded in all direction by interesting people and attractions. Everything is basically interactive along with the people. I drifted around for days there at the GOTJ21, and no matter where I went, I couldn’t seem to find a place that didn’t offer something. From strange and far-out conversations to naked bodies, to endless encampments full of dedicated Juggalos and Juggalettes, dueling mega-phone barkers, balloon magic, games, freaks, pets, friends, strangers, special interest Juggalos, religious Juggalos, healthy Juggalos, sober Juggalos, fucked up Juggalos, mind altering party favors, campers, tents, water gun attackers, families, loners, stoners, and on and on.

I was there for days and barely scratched the surface. From backstage during the Insane Clown Posse set, to the furthest reaches of the badlands (parking lot) …it’s all waiting for you. Whether you’re part of the Juggalo and Juggalette family, a curious onlooker, or just a festival bug, the experience is waiting for you)

We’d like to thank shaggytheairhead for taking time out of his day to chop it up with the readers at the ROX-TV website. Look for him at the Gathering of the Juggalos and keep coming back for more coverage on the GOTJ22. As always live right, treat all people like a brother or a sister, and keep grinding. Until next time….
