Welcome back to the ROX-TV website. As you know, I’m a big supporter of Citizen Records in France, which is home to the amazing Vitalic and the world he has built. I dig what these cats are getting up to and would encourage anyone looking for something refreshing, nostalgic, or perhaps you just need a break from the regular bullshit of the world. If any of those apply than you should swing by Paris and hear the sounds bubbling up from the lab. My homegirl Tiphanie from Citizen Records just sent me a new press kit for John Lord Fonda’s upcoming (Feb 14th) remix release of “Together Again” featuring Gabriel Afathi, and I couldn’t be happier. So much so, that I decided to throw this together and help get the word out. So, without further to do, let’s get into the machinery…

Citizen Records kicks off 2023 by inviting Endrik Schroeder and Stroblights to remix “Together Again“, one of the highlights of John Lord Fonda’s last album, Walk Again. Fonda also pitches in, delivering a daring ambient version of the track. With John Lord Fonda adding keyboards to revisit his own track, it becomes a softer, slower, more ethereal affair. The bass and kick are gone, leaving room for melody and a crackly piano revving up in the background. Fonda has picked up his flute again, an instrument he swapped for synths after many years of music studies, and it’s a perfect fit!
Now a widescreen production, the melancholia and fragility of Together Again is more palpable than ever. In the hands of Stroblights, a duo from Dijon formed in 2023 by Martin Lacaille (Attend) Gabriel Afathi (half of The George Kaplan Conspiracy), Together Again has its best sneakers on and is ready to hit the clubs. Somewhere between electronica, melodic techno and disco, Stroblights give the track a thorough going over, adding a killer bassline while still keeping a spaced-out vibe. Hailing from Grenoble in the southeast of France, Endrik Schroeder is the guest of honor on this project. Schroeder takes Together Again into Italo Disco territory by way of EDM, using a clipped kick drum and cosmic waves of sound while keeping the track’s vaporous, mysterious essence.
For the visuals, director and motion designer Raphaël Bluzet (whose work has won prizes at Holly Shorts in Hollywood and Aesthetica in England, plus a special mention at the Cannes Short Film Festival) accompanies the original version with elegance and a sense of poetry. Mixing filmed images with animation, the video for Together Again explores body language and the rich gamut of emotions that result from a tumultuous, passionate love affair, changing with time and memory.

Stroblights was born from the meeting of Martin Lacaille (Attend) and Gabriel Afathi (half of The George Kaplan Conspiracy). Both active in the Dijon music scene, their paths crossed on different projects. The two producers decided to work together at the end of 2022 and meet in the studio. The fruit of their collaboration gives birth to a club techno, dancing and progressive with pronounced electro accents. It’s safe to say that they are plugged into all things divine. Don’t sleep on this shit. This music takes you places my friends.
Endrik Schroeder: Play listed by the greatest artists such as Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Jennifer Cardini, Arnaud Rebotini , Skatebaard ,Pablo Bozzi, and more recently Kittin, The Hackeror Vitalic, Endrik Schroeder has developed his passion for electro and Italo disco over the years while establishing himself firmly within the Grenoble electronic scene.
The producer has already been spotted by several very good independent labels such as Zone Music (label founded by The Hacker), Ritmo Fatale (label founded by Kendal and Paul Guglielmi) or Bordello a Parigi (based in Amsterdam and known as an excellent talent scout) to name but a few. 2023 promises to be full of promises and projects for Endrik Schroeder, who is doing us the honor of opening the year with a remix for John Lord Fonda.
John Lord Fonda and Gabriel Afathi (part of The George Kaplan Conspiracy) present a new version of “Together Again”, the standout track from John Lord Fonda’s last album “Walk Again”. Remixed by the man himself, as well as Endrik Schroeder and the brand-new duo Stroblights. “Together Again” can now be appreciated through three different lenses. With remixes exploring the ambient, techno, and Italo Disco, the track branches into three universes, exploring the variety and depth that electronic music allows.
