Sutter Kain And Appllo Valdez Dark Midnight Review
Sutter Kain & Appollo Valdez – Dark Midnight
Written By: Spooky
I’m honored to get an advance copy in order to bring you guys a review. Sutter Kain & Appollo Valdez brings us a new album with nothing but straight east coast bangers. It has a beautiful old school gritty boom bap sound while keeping it sounding crisp and clean. Everything about this album is done amazingly. Each track changes it’s tone and topic enough which is a solid thing so you don’t feel the album is getting stale or redundant. Sutter Kain as always brings us those astonishing instrumentals with those hard hitting drums that have become his signature sound.
The Music
This album has a well polish sound for an underground release. Sutter Kain proves to us that his beats are like fine wine with how they’ve gotten better with age. Appollo Valdez is not one to sleep on with this album. He delivers a lot of solid bars while keeping the concept of each song flowing well. Appollo has a smooth flow over these instrumentals and it’s just beautiful how well everything meshes so well.
Everything he spits has conviction and emotion dripping off of every word. The features on this album all fit so well with each song. Everyone holds their own and it doesn’t sound like a bunch of rappers trying to out rap each other and more like they are united with Appollo on bringing each song alive with their different visions. There is only one feature that I wasn’t really a fan of to be honest and that was Mc Val. It’s not that she didn’t kill it I just feel like her style didn’t really mesh well with the beat and feel like she needs something more aggressive sounding to match her flow and energy.

Final Thoughts
Overall this album sounds amazing and flows so well from the first track all the way to track twelve. I highly suggest people to check this album out and purchase themselves a copy. I believe over time this album will sit with the other heavyweight classics released from Never So Deep Records.
