Cypress Hill Officially Announces Their Brand New Album

Cypress Hill, the Group that convinced America to legalize it is back at it again! With their 9th album, Elephants on Acid, set to be released on September 28 and promises to not disappoint. DJ Muggs is back bringing the sound that brought Cypress Hill into the light back in the 90s.
Bobo on the drums. Mix Master Mike on the turntable. B Real and Sen Dog are bringing it all together with unique flow that only Cypress Hill can do. Ive previewed the 4 songs that were released on their YouTube channel and all I can say is, I can’t wait for this one.
The first song “Band of Gypsies” hit my ears and carried me back to my hip hop roots where I fell in love with rap music. The melody and the chorus put my trance back to my days of smoking hashish in the middle east. Then B Real snapped me back to reality with his opening lyrics “your looking at the last of a dying breed”. Its been a long road but it ain’t over, not by a far shot and Cypress Hill is already talking about another album.
The next track “Reefer Man” which has been out since 2017 throws the classic Cypress Hill kings of bud mantra that we all fell in love with way back when. They nail the whole point with “thats what happens when you come see the doctor/I don’t care what the fedz say fuckin cock blockers”. This group has been about fighting the system since day 1 and they keep that message alive with this one.
The best part is, they are winning when it comes to their ultimate message. Which is weed is a medicine and should be legalized. Then I was hit with “Crazy” and I gotta say is if this is being crazy I don’t wanna be normal. Of course DJ Muggs ends off the 4 video series with “Muggs is Dead” which is a DJ instrumental that Cypress Hill is famous for putting on their albums.
Overall, this is classic Cypress Hill with a new twist. The videos are a must see. The beats are tight and show a level of skill and complexity not seen too often. Sen Dog and B Real kill it with the flow that’s grimy yet smooth and definitely screams OG’s in the game. This album looks to be unstoppable and seriously looks to give Black Sunday a run for its money.
Cypress Hill is doing a World Tour starting October 6th, in Argentina. With only a few spots in the United States. Lets hope they do a US tour soon. I expect that they will be keeping there message to legalize world wide as well. I look forward to the Album release and will do a full review soon after.
