Sada Baby Disqualifies Eminem as A Top 5 Detroit Rapper

Sada Baby Disqualifies Eminem as A Top 5 Detroit Rapper

Sada Baby 2

In the past days Detroit rapper Sada Baby has dropped his top 5 list for Detroit rappers and it dose not include Eminem . Articles circulating have Sada on record stating he is not discrediting Em in anyway or is it a sneak Diss , after a long process of elimination and choices Eminem just did not make his cut . He continues to explain his reasons for this and some of the criteria used to build the list . All-though the buzz is all in articles and social media at this point the original statements made by Sada Baby came from his recent Say Cheese interview where at the end they dragged the answer out of him for his Detroit top 5 . If you have took the time to watch the interview you can see he was hesitant and caught off guard by the question but was ready to go on record and confirm wholehearted that the proclaimed g.o.a.t of the rap game is not a top rapper but dose contribute and will always get respect for the work he put in with the movie 8 mile .

Sada Baby

“You talking about my Detroit?”

Sada Baby’s first words after the question was asked “You talking about my Detroit?” when Eminem’s name was mentioned , after a quick pause and thought he goes on to answer the follow up question of is it because hes not from the trenches or the mud or because he raps a different style as the could be reason . Sada responds with a quick no and that its because he has never met any of his people in music or the city and that his people around him never bumped his music . This statement shadows back to last years Gucci Mane interview where he stated that Eminem wasn’t the g.o.a.t but the most commercially successful artist . Many will disagree with the statements of both and many more will have their own opinion on this . My opinion here is that he is the most successful and lyrical from Detroit but when anybody from Michigan or Detroit knows when you talk about music from Detroit it is now built into two categories one being that you are from Detroit and the other is that you have that distinct Detroit hip hop , rap sound of today . Now with this statement being made Eminem is the most successful and commercially know from the city of Detroit and he reps that tittle proud but Sada Baby was right and Gucci said it best “Do you and your girl ride around listening to Eminem ?” . The new Detroit sound and what is reflected by the sound heard in the city doesn’t include Em nor his colleagues Royce Da 59 and others , they all have respect in their own right and get the stamp of approval by the city along side many others lesser known commercially .

“The new Detroit sound”

The new Detroit sound is very different from what it once was in the early 90s even from those that pioneered in the mid 2000s such as Blade Icewood , Stretch money , K-Deezy and Big Herk  .It has turned into a music that can only be defined by the generation of artists that are arart of it such as Sada Baby , Icewear Vezzo , Tee Grizley , FMBdz and others alike . This new developing music only about 8 years old has gained its way to the commercially mainstream music industry with the success of Dough Boyz Cashout around 2012 being signed to Young Jeezy’s C.T.E recording label , in its small life the sound now reflects the sound of the city and a new wave in the commercial industry with many different artists in the genre coming to success .

Everybody near and far has an opinion on this and to each their own my only advice is consider what Sada Baby was speaking and and the context he was using , its an unpopular opinion but i agree with a side note  though that each decade of music since the 80s in Detroit hip hop has had its own successes , influences and sound that all with their own sound . When speaking about my top 5 or “Mount Rushmore ” as Sada called it of Detroit rap and hip hop i could only give a vague description of which artists i feel where my favorites a true top 5 would have to meet certain criteria and stretch of all decades of Detroit hip hop since its birth . Yes Em probably will be in my top 5 for his influence and length in the game alone along side his lyricism and you should definitely stay tuned for my top 10 Detroit rappers of all time straight from the Fat Boi that will also delve into a small history of Detroit hip hop for you all .
