Its a Cold Summer with Riverside Sherwood

Long awaited and anticipated Riverside Sherwood dropped his new album “Cold Summer ” only 3 months after giving us fire bars and hood bangers with “Secure The Bag” in December . This new release has made way thru more then just the hood you can hear and see on social people all thru south east Michigan are running to grab hard copies before they are gone . Backed up by numbers on digital streaming platforms to back the local hype i couldn’t wait to hear what was in store for myself and all of you out there so i started my steaming experience !
Allthough it may be a week after release Riverside Sherwood did not forget to throw a party to celebrate and let the hennith pour to all . You can be sure to catch Sherwood performing your favorites off “Cold Summer” and his past releases at Rockys Pub in Riverview Mi. on Saturday April 27th . Riverside Sherwood ,Primo beats, PUG and B team members amongst others will be turning it up for the night with you .
The Temp is getting Low its Gonna be A “Cold Summer”
OHHHWEEEE off rip Riverside comes off with a familiar but different sound , same Sherwood in the sense of how deep , catchy , and lyrical he is but with that said a few tracks i felt he watered down his ability on a track or two to make the adaption to the industry standard hip hop but not necessarily in a bad way or bad vibe . Ill start you right from the first track of the album with “They Don’t Know Me” my opinion its one of the deeper tracks that everybody has come to love about Sherwood among other elements , also other tracks that are on the album with it . Myself he grabbed me from that track so here we go into the meat of the album now that we marinated a bit .”Fuck a wood put a Phillie in the air” the second track is a certified hood banger for the summer that will match anything coming from the hood to the radio , with help from C-Millz of the B-Team this track is something to get the party started no mater where you play it at and can be on repeat .
Now onto the 3rd track of the album Riverside Sherwood gives you a taste of his versatility with “Unholly Matrimony” that gives you a more radio feel to it , but i gotta shout out Primo Beats with the Lil Jon sample that just fits perfect with the whole track. He follows with “Pray for Me ” coming at you with another industry flow but staying true to the Riverside sound and holding down gang . “Steak Tartare and Caviar ” is a straight dope Detroit beat with Sherwood showing you his lyrical abilities with tons of punchlines hard rhymes and a flow that doesn’t stop thru the song but switches up flawlessly.
“Road Runners and Draco Kisses”
Half way thru the album “Road Runner” brings you back to classic Riverside cocky and makes you wanna hold ya chick so she don’t get stolen and he isn’t even in the room . Followed by “Draco Kisses” its a hit or a miss for me i like it but and can bump it but its too industry for me but he say some shit bout flick her tit had me dieing so i had to bump it twice , “plus living fast is as good as it gets ” its a hustle anthem if you listen to it all the way it wont disappoint that being said it went from a maybe to a i fuck with it and so should yall. “Moon walkin ” is a true classic with the Sherwood style and PUG lifestyle reflected backed by the drip beat that shouts to you only ways a Primo Beats and Riverside Sherwood track can give you.
The next track brings you my least favorite of the album the red headed step child is “Keys” im not sure why i dont like it its got some good content and a good beat but its just not my shot of yak . Riverside Sherwood finishes the album off heavy tho with a two tracks back to back that only real ones will feel . “Foolin Me” shows you how all the real ones see the fake and the lames out there and what they feel and do to squares , its one of my favorites on the album i was speaking on in the begining .
Straight to the bag , runnin bands up , “Stand UP”
The last two tracks on the project are “Stand Up” and “Feel This” , stand up brings you some strength and motivation another hustle track from Sherwood bound to be a hit as soon as its heard . The last track on the album is proably the most emotiuonal and real song on it it ends it on a huge note making you want to replay that last track over and over wether your feeling low or geeked its for you and its going to blow up .
Oh wait you thought id leave you out thats only the digital copy if you make sure you grab a hard copy so you can bump another party track from Sherwood or check it out below “Hennesy” only available on hard copies .
