I Think Troubled Mindz Might Need Therapy

I Think Troubled Mindz Might Need Therapy

Troubled Mindz

Downriver’s own Demonic duo and founders of the immortal Murder House Records , Toxzik and Wicked K  known as Troubled Mindz takes us on another tour thru their twisted and bloody minds with the newest release “I Need Therapy “.  All i can say is it is a true pleasure to review the newest album from these guys they have been a pillar in downriver Michigan underground music scene for almost my entire life . Now 20 years after the start of Troubled Mindz and Murder House Records these guys are still killing the scene they helped pioneer and are on what can be considered a resurgence to some but to me is phase 2 of the M.H.R  take over . In the past few years people have left the underground scene in one way or another but one thing stays consistent and that’s Troubled Mindz and the Murder House Records camp , even thru all the ups , downs and perils of the underground music scene they are still around and “I Need Therapy ” shows you that they are still the killaz “Off In The Darkness” and why they are considered legends to many and idols to some .

I Think I Might Need Some Therapy

Troubled Mindz

Troubled Mindz newest release “I Need Therapy” is their 7th full length album and it will let you know why they are still the one and only Trobled Mindz  taking you on another trip thru the horror movie with no ending that is the thoughts and “Nightmarez” of Toxzik and Wicked K . All though most will stream this album on their preferred platform such as Spotify id recommend buying the hard copy the physical copy is worth having just for the classic horror-core cover and artwork that has come to represent the darkness that is Murder House Records. After i got done admiring the artwork i slipped the CD into my shitty CD player in my car and began to vibe out to the sound only Troubled Mindz can provide you , the intro grabs your  attention right away with that horror core dark deep sound the underground is known for .

The first track off the new album takes no time to let you know that you just got yourself stuck in the hell that is the domain of the Troubled Mindz and the Murder House titled “Cursed By These Demonz” it brings you the story of why two men can make this music while giving you a tale about the life of the duo and lets you delve deep into their inner horrors and tribulations in life . “LIGHT’S OUT” is the second track on “I Need Therapy” and all i can say is i can feel and hear the crowd screaming the chorus like they chant “Aint No Party Like A Murder House Party Cuz A Murder House Party Don’t Stop” after every show , in my opinion this is one of the sleepers on the CD and is a certified underground banger . Track three is a dark story of why and trying to understand your demented and crazy Thoughts Of A Loonatik , its one of my lesser favorites off the album but I’ve never found a CD I haven’t had at-least one track I like but Im not going to bump in my radio daily.

I Cant Seem To Stop It I Want More…Troubled Mindz

Murder House Records

I ….I…I cant seem to stop it …I want moreeee track 4 after the intro is “I Want More” taking you on a trip to the woods verbally you think you are deep in the wood with these two crazy killers watching them bury the bodies of the innocent people they just got done hunting . Next to “Light’s Out” the track that follows as my second favorite on this CD is “They Call Me A Sinner” with a catchy hook ” I Take Your Life In A Instant , Never Gave A Fuck About Religion , Hacking Up Bodies For Dinner With Blood Running Down My Hands They Call Me A Sinner”  the song is reminiscent of the days when Kill Yourself Productionz (K.Y.P) and Murder House Records (M.H.R) dominated the Midwest underground scene almost 10 years ago . The hook is followed by Toxzik spiting a wicked verse and paying homage to the late great Mr.Stitchez of Mental Ward , giving way for his brother in blood Wicked K to verbally murder the track.

The 7th song on the CD is a track they have been doing live for about a year leaving fans waiting for the release of “I Need Therapy” to hear this without attending a live show . In my list the song “Off In The Darkness ” has a special place i love it live when Im in the pit at shows and now i can bang this crazy shit from every speaker in my house . “Off In The Darkness ” is definitely an underground anthem complemented my a greatly sung chorus and a feature from fellow underground legend Staplez of Bedlam , a great gift for all you og bedlamites out there.

“Your Nightmare” takes you on a tale of lust as the killers in the dark stalk and take a fitting female for their dark pleasures , this track caters to all my sick fucks out there with unnatural urges . Troubled Mindz stays with the same theme for the track that follows “Hunting And Stalking ” but letting you peak into the Murder House with fire features straight outa hell from Big Sin and Demonic as GxdHatesus . The eighth song on the album is titled “Decapitataz Pt.2 ” with a killer beat and vibe that makes you want to either go ape shit in the mosh pit or just get amped up , between the beat the features from Scum and Mcfleezy and the raw and rugged lyrics of Troubled Mindz this track is sure to be another horrorcore classic .

I Dont Know Whats Going On Troubled Mindz ?

Troubled Mindz

I don’t know whats going on I think Im “Skitzophrenic” . All i can say is that this track screams Wicked K well to me because I’ve been listening for so long and i can say that the rock influence is from him . “Skitzophrenic” is the 3rd to last track on the “I Need Therapy” album and is a absolute masterpiece and achievement for Troubled Mindz , if you cant tell by listening Wicked K explained how proud he was that in the 20 years they have been together doing music that this was the first and only song that is completely live sampled from instruments played by himself and others . Although some dislike the rock influence and Wicked K’s singing im one of the opposite i feel that the voice he uses to sing his hooks and chorus has only gotten better and developed over the years and is one of the reasons fans love the Troubled Mindz sound . That being said i love the track “Not Right In My Mind” and its is also one of my favorite tracks off this album and I will be bumping just as much as i do their other rock influenced tracks.

Closing out “I Need Therapy” is the title track and is yet another track they have used to tease fans until this release came out , only performed live and put on a couple extra special mix tapes this track gives you the entire vibe of the album but also is the most relateable track on the album giving encouragement and words of help to those that feel as down and out as myself and Troubled Mindz . If you hit tough times i suggest this track and to do what it says “put the weed in the bowl take a hit from the pipe , put a pen to the pad instead of ending my life” .

Final Thoughts After My Time In Therapy

Troubled Mindz “I Need Therapy” album is a horrorcore classic in all ways a true hard 9 out of 10 on the underground / horrorcore scale and not far behind in rap over all when you compare bars , lyrics and verses in my opinion and Im sure your’s also . After 8 full length solo albums , 2 projects as Murder Mob with the M.H.R , K.Y.P and BO Dub camps , numerous mix tapes and compilation albums all over a career span of 20 years in the underground . Troubled Mindz have proven that they have what it takes to stay leaders in the scene and continue to go beyond and create something better every time they release something from the murder house . In closing my opinion on this album is all over this review and I will state it blatantly now in case you didn’t catch it “I Need Therapy ” is a instant classic in my book one of the best albums Troubled Mindz has gave us so far and that’s a lot because I was in love with “Blood Sweat And Fears ”  and “Nightmarez” but this new album just kills it paying homage to the Michigan underground scene , killer features , beats that will make your soul tremble and exposé of true growth they have made since “Evil Intentionz ” was released and the Murder House was started .
