Ten Artists stand out when it comes to shootings and various violent crimes. But, in many cases these artists are simply scapegoats. And in many cases, false information has been deliberately put into our minds forever. What’s more, the media and politicians have fed the public lies. Unfortunately, this has damned some careers, while in other cases, made them. And with all this in mind, this article is written by Sid Jones. Marilyn Manson

We’re starting with this one for a few reasons. But, the major one is, we all know the story. Or at least, we think we do. As previously mentioned in the beginning, this man has been blamed for school shootings and violence. But, the one we all associate him with is Columbine High School. There were rallies protesting his concerts and appearances. Even though, the man cancelled the rest of his tour for the respect of those that lost their lives.

What’s even worse, is he isn’t even the artist the kids listened to! Yes, you’re reading this correctly. And it goes much deeper and terribly wrong. From misinformation to blatant lies. The kids that shot up the high school were not part of the Trench Coat Mafia, nor would they be classified as outsiders. And that means, not only was Marilyn Manson the poster child for mass shootings, but so are outcasts, misfits, goths and punks. Now, that to me sounds like media control!

Drowning Pool

You can’t have a ten artists list involving shootings, without mentioning this band. We’ve all listened to the song, Bodies and most of us probably still do. And we raged in our ten year old bedrooms to the song, rocked out when the music video was shown on MTV etc. Well, in 2011, there was a shooting and of ALL the songs this kid could have pointed the finger at? He chooses Bodies.

Let’s get something straight, he shot a congresswoman and wounded others. Then, blamed it on a song that came out in 2001? Someone should have updated his music catalog. Because that is not information I would be giving to the public if I ever shot a congresswoman. I’m just saying. Also, fun fact cockroaches chew through wood faster when heavy metal is played. The more you know.

Eminem

Now, this one is really bizarre. And clearly, there’s something mentally wrong with the this guy. In 2009, a man killed his wife and daughter. His son survived 11 stab wounds and he was stabbed more times because, “He loved him more.” But, that’s not even the crazy part of the story. The dude was convinced his wife was a demon. And even stranger, he was yelling, “Here comes Satan, I’m the antichrist, I’m going to kill you.” Before, carrying out the heinous acts of violence.

Every single media outlet focused their attention on Eminem and the lyrics. Here’s the punchline: Those lyrics were never found in any of Eminem’s songs. So, not only is Eminem the G.O.A.T, he’s the best ScapeGOAT! (Cue laugh track)

Metallica

How can you have a ten artists list, without mentioning this heavy metal band? Top ten overrated, top ten songs, albums, and so on. Well, one fine day in New Jersey, a 29 year old woke up and bashed his mom’s head in with a barbell. And then, he drove off on his motorcycle. Hang in there, this is where it gets pretty bad. While driving around with no real direction, he comes across an 11 year old boy, riding a bicycle. And that’s when this grown man, with a big boy bike, pulled the little kid off of his bike and began stabbing him to death. He then left the body in a nearby pond.

The 29 year old would later be apprehended and that started a TWO YEAR TRIAL. The defense attorney claims that his client is schizophrenic and manic-depressive. But, his client decides that he’s going to get on the stand and claim, say it with me now, he’s possessed by the devil. Well, apparently the devil enjoys the song Ronnie. Which includes the following lyrics, “Lost my way this bloody day.” A boy who bascially, “Lost his way.” A woah is me tale and “the devil made me do it.”

Fortunately, the courts didn’t buy into this nonsense and he was sentenced to 50 years in jail. And that is what you get for living in a state that cannot locate the New Jersey Devil.

Insane Clown Posse

And I’m going to start with this! Hey Shaggy 2 Dope, you just made the list! And this is the best part of the discovery. However, this might upset a few people. See, I was trying to be unbias in my research. So, as I’m looking up punk band murders, the only thing I found was the following link:

Now, say it with me! Irony. And vindication. But, let’s get into this gem. In 2009, four people lured one gentleman into the woods. And for whatever reason, they beat him down with baseball bats. Why? Well, allegedly, he was a snitch. And all five individuals were juggalos.

Interesting fact about myself. In the mountains of New Hampshire, we’re sitting at the Club 550 when we learned the body of a Maine woman was discovered in Duck Pond. She was beaten with a rubber mallet, thrown in the freezing pond and her baby left in the back seat of the car. The back door on the driver’s side left open.

And who was one of the culprits? Well, here’s a picture of him.

AC/DC

So, this one is a little bit of a rule breaker. And I don’t care. So, here go. The year is 1985 and there’s a serial killer on the loose in San Gabriel Valley, California. But, his crimes surpass just murder. Well, I’m not going to get into the graphic details. If you want to research more, you’re going to have to look it up on your own. And in case you haven’t noticed, there is no mention of names, aside from the artists. I refuse to give these people any bit of glory or shine.

Anyway, this serial killer was a Satanist that enjoyed listening to AC/DC. Fun fact, he was known for leaving lyrics from the Highway To Hell album at crime scenes. And 0ne of Ramirez’s hats featuring the band’s name was shown during news bulletins. The media referred to him as the “Night Stalker.” Named after the last song on Highway to Hell, “Night Prowler.”

Even though, he never admitted to being influenced by the music, he was very public about being a fan.

Slayer

Because of course they were! I’m pretty sure this band would be the reason the pope resigned. If you thought the Insane Clown Posse were constantly under fire, get ready for this four spot. And out of the ten artists, this one may be the most horrendous and ridiculous on the list. And this time, we will be using names.

The year is 1996, and the parents of Elyse Pahler are attempting to sue these heavy metal giants. Their 15 year old daughter was drugged, beaten, brutally raped, strangled and stabbed to death. Now, they blamed Slayer for this because of the songs”Postmortem” and “Dead Skin Mask” had, and I quote,”Outlined instructions on how to carry out the vicious attack.”

In 2001, the case was dismissed. But, the parents weren’t satisfied and attempted to bring the band to court, yet again. And yes, it’s the same song and dance, similar charges and later dismissed.

The Beatles

This number three spot is kind of like beating a dead horse. But, if Eminem is constantly in your top ten, well so is this next entrant. In the 1960’s, an individual led a cult to murder, robbery, and break ins. What drove him to do this? Well, it was The Beatles. I guess because Slayer wasn’t around, he had to find someone to pin his actions on.

Convinced the band was talking directly to him through lyrics and subliminal messages. And of course the bible, gave him the propaganda to instruct others to carry out his crimes. Which brings me to this question. How come bibles and religions aren’t held to any accountability?

Fox News, that’s why.

Chief Keef

And here we are, nearing the end of death, mayhem and lack of responsibility. As upset as I am to bring this list of ten artists to a close, I just wanted to take the time to thank you for making it this far. However, let’s get through this last one, before we celebrate early.

The year is 2013 and three classmates have murdered a fellow student. They admitted they listened to Chief Keef, a rapper out of Chicago. And that’s pretty much the gist of it. They said they listened to this music and Chief Keef got the finger pointed at him.

This just goes to show you that people will never turn that finger inward. And that’s a tragedy.

Tupac Shakur

Congratulations! You did it! You stuck around and this is your prize! And as you can tell, there is no GG Allin, Darby Crash, Sid Vicious, or Iggy pop on this list. Believe me, I spent days hunting down any cases that involved punk rock. And I found none whatsoever. But, I did find this one, which seems to be pretty popular and glorified.

A teenage sniper shot an officer, killing him. But, he’s not alone. There were two lookouts and one of them took aim, shooting the police van. Later on, they’re questioned as to why they did it, and they said it was Tupac’s songs that inspired them to do it.

A week prior to the shooting, Tupac was doing a show in their city of Milwaukee, WI. Where Tupac insulted his fans and his security guard joined him on stage, brandishing a firearm.
