3 From Hell Needs To Answer A Few Questions

 

Rob Zombie dropped the official Three From Hell Trailer on July 15th, 2019. And after a day of reactions, celebration and praise, people watched House of 1000 Corpses and Devil’s Rejects. To commemorate the release and revisit the classic films. However, in doing so there are a few questions that need to be answered. While the films are pretty much sealed shut, there seems to be unanswered questions. And the praises and cheers turned to head scratching. So, here are the five questions we need answers to in 3 From Hell.

 

WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD

Where Is Ravelli?

The guy that jumped out with an axe and killed the robbers in the first film. After Captain Spaulding mops up the blood and the kids show up, we never see him again. At all ever. Although, after Devil’s Rejects, it seems that going back to the roots would change the tone. Still, wandering minds are curious as to what happened to this character. Even in dialogue. After all, the actor Irwin Keyes passed away at 63. Which, may make it more painful to mention.

 

What Ever Came Of Dr. Satan’s Lair?

It didn’t blow up. Unlike most films where the good guy flees from the bad guy’s home. In House of 1000 Corpses when Denise survives the hellacious night of satanic rituals and literal Hell as she’s lured into the depths below. Nothing happens, minus a dead wielding axe man and her simply escaping. She didn’t even go face to face with Satan himself. She just escapes. Only to be captured by Captain Spaulding and Otis, through a false sense of security. But that brings us to the big question. What ever happened to that lair? While we could sit and speculate, that question is never really answered.

 

Where Is Dr. Satan?

Okay sure. If you look at the deleted scenes from Devil’s Rejects, Dr. Satan is in the hospital. And brutally kills a nurse. But that’s all the deleted scene gave us. Will we ever see this crazy man again? We at least would like something, even in dialogue of the actual film of where he is. And I may be nailed to a cross for this but, what if instead of them actually surviving the shoot out, they were lowered into the ground in a graveyard that is home to Dr. Satan. Of course, it probably would have changed the tone of the film as previously mentioned, but I feel like it’s an important character that we need closure on. And the die hard House of 1000 corpses fans deserve to know. After all, it’s an entire film dedicated to the search for Dr. Satan.

 

What Is The Fate Of Captain Spaulding’s Gas Station And Museum?

Odds are we could easily answer that question. Either the bounty hunters burned the place to the ground. Or, it was raided before or after the farmhouse was under siege in Devil’s Rejects. But we don’t really know for sure. And even though their victims clearly carry cash, it seemed to be the only way to support the family. There are bills to pay after all and we even see the commercial in the beginning of Devil’s Rejects, but we never actually see the gas station or the murder ride. Even if it was explained away in a bit of dialogue. Or, we get a clip of crime scene investigators carry out various objects, it would put our minds at ease. It is mentioned in the second film, by several people. Including the sheriff. But it would be nice to know for sure the fate of the family business.

 

Where Is Clevon?

The right hand man to Charlie Altimon, we never know what happens to this unique character. And it seems that he was so attached to Charlie it could be a dark turn for this character. Charlie may have been taken down by an axe, thanks to Wydell, we never know the fate of Clevon. And seeing his return could answer a few questions. We already know Danny Trejo will be making his return, which means the fate of Clevon may be answered. Or, maybe Spaulding finds out that after the death of Charlie, Clevon couldn’t handle the loss of his good friend. And that leads to a tragic turn. Either way, we deserve to know.
