5 Best Cover Songs You Never Knew Existed (Probably)

These Cover Songs Are Better Than The Originals! Top 5 Covers

Written By: Sid Jones

Cover songs are usually hit and miss. In fact, I would argue that more often than not covers are never as good as the originals. But thanks to Spotify, I can give you the five best cover songs that surpass the originals. This will be short and sweet. So enjoy this brief list and tell your friends! I’m doing this list to remind each and every one of you that there is good music out there. And throw that nostalgia to the wayside!

5

Lose Yourself- Saliva

I really like this song and there are countless of covers of it. But this one in particular has the perfect sound and it surpasses any version out there. Just listen to the drums and the last verse alone. Not to mention that this is completely underrated and one of the best Saliva tracks out there. Lose Yourself is a track I never considered to be transferred into guitars and instruments.

4

Paint It Black- The Unseen

A lot of bands have covered this song in the past. And there are a lot of versions of it on Spotify, but this one is hands down the best. It’s short and it has the best drops and vocals of any version of Paint It Black. Whether you like rock, heavy metal or punk, this will be your favorite version hands down! The Unseen has a history of performing original music and I think this rendition of Paint It Black is a reflection of their unique sound and keeping true to the original.

3

Eye Of The Tiger- Devil You Know/Light The Torch

Once known as Devil You Know, the band changed its name to Light The Torch. And this can be confusing, but you can look up this cover song of Eye Of The Tiger under either name. And it’s absolutely incredible! I promise this will be your favorite version and it belongs in the next Rocky/Creed film. It’s heavy and you can actually understand the lyrics as well. It’s hard rock and it’s brilliant.

2

Guns Of Brixton- Dropkick Murphys

Its hard to pick the best Dropkick Murphys cover. Whether its a rendition of an Irish folk song or a more modern cover. So, I decided to go with the most underrated cover in the history of music. Guns Of Brixton a Clash original! And for those that don’t know, The Clash is a punk band that inspired Ken Casey to play bass. I have to argue that this version is better than the Clash’s version. It’s old school punk and a Boston sound!

1

Faint- Speaking With Ghosts

High quality music video and it doubles as a tribute. But this song truly surpasses the original. It goes harder and has one of the best drops in music. For me, this is a favorite and I prefer it to Linkin Park. This one took me by surprise and I encourage you to give it a chance.
