Famous people are becoming a lot more common. From Youtubers to Soundcloud rappers. Obviously the internet has become a huge cause of this. And there doesn’t seem to be any shortage of stupid viral material out there. However the bigger problem is what society is deciding to make famous. While people may not know this, your views are your vote. If you give something attention (good or bad) it only helps the algorithm. Even a curious click helps these ignorant celebrities more than you realize. For instance:
Unlike picking up a newspaper or magazine and glancing at it. When you click on something on the internet, it is documented and kept. Now, if you’re simply scrolling and don’t click on a link, image or video what’s recorded is whatever you searched. Furthermore, the ones that document all of this analyze the data and information. Which means, they will make more content on what’s popular.
So, how do they drive you to click a link or video? Catchy clickbait titles. And as much as everyone online is an expert and comment, “Clickbait” or “fake news” they still clicked the link. And it’s too late. Artists and record labels do this on purpose. And you fall for it every time. Stupid people you make famous are a reflection of what you enjoy watching. Feel attacked yet?
