AOL And Yahoo Write Misleading/Nondescriptive Article On Juggalos For Documentary Series
The other day an article was published about Juggalos and was put in circulation with slight errors that could possibly throw off the general public leading them to believe Twiztid is Insane Clown Posse.
Although the article was made on a positive note unlike most articles written on Juggalos by the mainstream press it still had lack of detail. They failed to mention that Juggalos are in fact a family of outcasts against hatred and bigotry which can be considered as vital information to many.
A Juggalo named “B-Riddle” was contacted several months ago to conduct this interview. In the video they took for this series called “Uncommon Ground” B-Riddle states that Juggalos are outcasted because of what the media portrays them to be. If you know the community well then you already know the family was already outcasted or considered “a family of outcasts” long before the mainstream media became familiar with their lifestyle.
In the article that was made we noticed it was missing some information. It mentioned ICP in it and how Juggalos derive from their fanbase but it did not have any pictures of them and only Twiztid which could very much so mislead many that aren’t familiar with the community. We contacted the journalist coordinating this article and they said they were working on getting it fixed but it took them nearly 48 hours to make these corrections and by the time that happened it was already circulated to thousands of people with errors instead of it being pulled until the proper corrections are made… Or better yet getting it right the first time. You can see the screenshots for the article below and if you would like to view the revised version you can do this here: https://www.aol.com/article/lifestyle/2019/12/02/inside-the-tight-knit-often-misunderstood-world-of-juggalos/23872568/?fbclid=IwAR1o9IobE27s_7RAE_uka4a9AMae09Wz1nJaA8NNzPg7u0kSzgQE4BLsCWE#
We furthermore contacted B-Riddle to ask if he tried getting an agreement to review the final article before it was published and he commented “No dude. I don’t care about any of that lol”. This also isn’t the first time the mainstream press couldn’t get details correct before publishing a story on Juggalos. Journalist Carla Green of KCRW Santa Monica traveled with Roger Tedi to the Juggalo March on the Greyhound Bus and added fake details to make Juggalos sound more extreme mentioning she ran into a “Racist Juggalo” and also claimed there was a Juggalo on their bus “cutting himself to write in a book in his own blood” which are both untrue. If you know the culture then you would know since legitimate Juggalos are against bigots then a racist claiming to be one would just be a poser. We at RoxxxTv would like to remind Juggalos that the mainstream media does not care about Juggalos or anybody else they interview or put in the press. They don’t care about getting all these details in order to conduct effective journalism. They just want their story and sometimes the people they interview don’t care about getting details correct before talking to press. Some people just want their 15 minutes in the spotlight.
Remember not to believe everything you read in the press. And if you decide to talk to them about a story… Make sure you cross your t’s and dot your i’s first, or pass it to someone who can do that and get their story straight.
