LB~Sickning stops by ROX-TV to talk about music, his show, and much more
Welcome to the ROX-TV website. I appreciate you taking the time to rock it up with us. Before we get started can you introduce yourself and tell the readers where your representing tonight?
Thank you. I fuck with the website hard…I’m the one and only LB~Sickning. Right now I live in Ohio, 419 all day.
I first met you on an interview for your show on YouTube. Before I get into that, can you talk a little bit about your show for the first-time readers and let them know what it’s all about?

O yeah, you’re talking about the show with you and Project Born on “It’s just music”. Yeah man, I started that show a little over a year ago. If you look at the first show compared to the one with Project Born, it’s come a long way. Signature Seriez Network came across the show and decided to hit me up and asked if I wanted help. They asked if I wanted to be on the network, so I jumped on it. I’ve always done music…everything but TV show stuff. Let’s just say I’m having a lot of love fun with it. To think that I’ve had people that’s been signed to Psychopathic Records, Strange Music and No Limit on my show…that is amazing. I never thought it would get that big… very cool and I hope it never stops.
You’ve been working in the music industry/entertainment for over fifteen years. What lead you to that journey? Who were your earliest influences when it came to your love for the music?
My uncle Dennis had a band, and they would rock out in the basement. I had a bedroom in his basement. So, of course he told me (I was only around 10-13 years old) never to mess with any of the gear, but every chance I got, I would rock out without them knowing… I think they knew but they never said anything. I think they were aware that I had a passion for it. I can’t really tell you what made me want to rap…I guess Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. The first time I heard Bizzy Bone rap .. I was in awe and wanted to do it too. I think I was around eight or nine years old ha ha. As far as influences, I was into everything. I can look at something and want to make music about it. It’s just in my blood, I guess.
I understand that you have free albums for fans to check out. What prompted you to make them available for free? Where can people find them? What are some of the concepts behind the music?
Well mostly cuz they were jacked beats. I don’t own the songs so I can’t really sell them ha ha. One of those was called “No Cuzz Wordz” which was a full “album” with no cuss words. I did that cuz my son was walking around singing an old song of mine that I made about drugs… I didn’t like that so I made an album that he could listen to without me feeling some kind of way about it. You can find most of that album on my YouTube. Search LB~Sickning but if you can’t find it there, it’s on my old reverbnation.com/lbsickning
From what I’ve read, you’ve had some struggles in your earlier life which led you to crime and drugs along the way. How were you able to overcome those hard times and get to the place you are today? Do you have any advice for anyone struggling with similar issues?
Yeah, I still struggle from time to time… that addiction shit is a real demon. I’ve been in and out of jail, group homes, prisons, psych wards, and rehabs all my life. I added all the time up once it came out to like 12 years, something like that…crazy. What made me want to change is my little girls… when my kids saw me get arrested… I knew I had to change. The look of fear on those kid’s faces…that broke me. So I did what I had to do. I got rid of all my “friends” and told them to bounce out of my life… I changed everything, you got to. From the clothes I wore, to the food I ate, to the friends I had. I changed everything and eventually that’s what happened. My advice is just “CHANGE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU” or it won’t work, and you’ll end up right back where you started. Get in some groups… they help.
Over the span of your career, it is reported that you’ve done some four hundred shows. What is it about the music that keeps you coming back for more? Can you describe to the readers what it’s like up on that stage and feelings you get when your rocking the crowd?

Yeah, I use to do shows all the time, every weekend. But the underground in Sandusky Ohio closed down. Peabody’s closed down in Cleveland and all the good spots are gone. We still have the Agora, but I don’t get booked as much from them anymore. In fact it’s been some years since the last time I did a full show. The last time I was on stage was at “The Gong Show” with the Insane Clown Posse. ICP along with Jumpsteady (Violent J’s brother) gave me ratings of 9 and two 6’s, and to tell you the truth, that was the most scary show I’ve ever done. (also one of the worst performances I’ve ever done) I told myself all that week “don’t look at them when you’re on that stage” I knew it would make me choke, but what’s the first thing I do, look and point at them. I almost choked; it took everything I had to get any sound to come out of my body. Ha Ha, as far as the feelings, it’s fear for me. When I’m on stage I’m scared… but I like to face my fear. I don’t get the high until it’s all over, when I step off the stage. It’s more like “yeah I just did that” and that’s the feeling I look forward to. When I’m stepping off the stage and the crowd is going wild, that’s the shit for real.
Can you talk about some of the artists that you’ve been proud to share a stage or a track with?

There’s way too many to name as far as sharing the stage. I’ve been blessed to have been on the same stage as most of my music heroes. HARD WORK PAYS OFF. I’m more than happy to talk about this music…I’ve got songs with some of the greatest artists in hip hop today.. Lil’ Flip, Blaze Hunter, Trizz, Cognito, Mars, Frank Nitty of Project Born, Zooka, Kung Fu Vampire, Bukshot, and Deviant Horror. There’s so many. It’s dope, I never thought I would get the respect of the people I have. It’s crazy to me. I’m just some white dude from a small town on the lake, it’s crazy.
I recently was interviewed by you on your show with Project Born in regard to the new book drop “Forever in the Jects”, which highlights PJB’s career in the underground. How long have you known the guys in Project Born? Can you talk about any collabs or projects you’ve worked with them over the years?

The first time I met Project Born was at Peabody’s in Cleveland. They came over to my front row seat during the performance. I have a picture of it somewhere, I just can’t find it. Some years later an old friend of mine gave me Nitty’s phone number. I started to hit him up. almost every day… to the point where I’m sure I got annoying because I kept asking him to do a track. (My bad Nitty, I was new to the game). One day he agreed, and we made the song “Homage” showing homage to Esham and all the greats that came before us. I would like to do a track with Project Born… legends man… gotta respect the legends.
Can you talk about the label you created and what inspired you to make the move to do so?
No one wanted to help me. I’ve been knocking on the doors of record labels for years and NOTHING. When I met Blaze Hunter and Zooka. They showed me a lot about this game. I really owe them a lot. Once they shared the “codes” with me, I knew what I was going to do…. For the people that want to really get to know me, come check out “It’s just music”. Throughout the shows I tell the audience a lot about myself. You’ll learn a lot for real, not just about me, but about whoever is on the show that day.
Are there any new projects you have in the works or other news you’d like to tease out to the readers at ROX-TV?
Just keep an eye on SicKKo E.N.T. I don’t stop… not till my casket drop.
What does the rest of 2021 look like for you?
I’m going to the Gathering of the Juggalos. As far as my live shows, maybe somewhere down the line. Since the ICP “The Gong Show” I’ve been working on my stage show, and when I come back, it will be better than ever.
Last but not least is the shout outs. Who are you shouting out tonight homie?
You Mike, thank you for getting on my show, thank you for this interview. The whole Signature Seriez Network and everyone on the team, Jeff K, Will, Mr. cooper, Zooka, Blaze Hunter, all ya’ll, you’re the shit and thank you. SICKKO ENT!!!
That’s all the time we have tonight. Until next time…
