ROX-TV chops it up with the homie SCUM from the LSP Family. We talk about the Dying World Chronicles Contest, the benefit show for Austin Ramos, new album drops from LSP and much more.
Before we get started, I’d just like to say that its always good to chop it up with you. I see the LSP Family making some serious noise lately. You recently had some new signings, your artists are on the road constantly, and the grind never seems to stop. Can you let the readers at the ROX-TV website, who may just be getting keyed into the LSP machine, what city or area you are putting it down for?
Thank you for that, we always try to stay busy, out of the politics, and on the move. And that’s a trick question really since you’re asking about LSP and we are a nationwide and pretty soon to be global family…I personally will always rep and hold it down for Denver, CO but our other artists also come from WI, TX, AZ, NV, IL, OH, FL and rep those states proudly too.
So I’ve been seeing a lot of activity on social media in regards to the Dying World Chronicles Contest. Can you explain to the readers what exactly the contest entails? How or why did you decide to create the contest?

Just a little something I’m doing to give a lot of the underground artists that fuck with the LSP movement a little extra exposure and for me to end up with a dope unplanned feature on this new album. Basically this “underground elite mentality” been preventing a lot of dope artists from getting any extra shine and I’m sick of it. What I mean is all the heavyweights have their own circle of artists they feature on their releases and that’s it. You can buy a feature, but you will never be featured on that artist’s shit. Or its some money grab contests with entry fees or review fees or submission fees, whatever u call it, your pocket gets lighter and your butt hurts a little.

I am always trying to feature some artists that are dope but not always in the cool kids club, shit half the time I’m not even allowed into that club myself or have to wear a visitor day pass lol. So what we are doing is giving these artists a song with the beat paid for, my parts done and an open verse, a couple weeks to turn in their version of the song with themselves added and then….we put it on our YouTube (unmonetized), my socials, make a listening session video of each group of submissions (there were a lot so I had to break it up into multiple groups of 10-12 songs each so no one got slept on), put all the songs into that video comments and let people vote for one or more submissions they like but only once (per FB account) and not voting for their homie 14 times in 2 weeks allowed….we are also doing shorter timeframes, 48 hours per group. Listen, vote, support, bam.
Then the winner of each group goes to 10 LSP artist/team judges (unbiased, can’t vote for the homie just cause you party with them) which I’m excluded from since I’m doing the listening, videos, and have the most bridges built with a lot of these artists, so I don’t wanna be biased and push for someone I like as a person or whose music I fux with the most…this is for anyone to win and be featured not only on all our pages but on my single AND on my album. This also allows me to scout artists for potential future work even if they don’t win but I really feel what they r doing.
From the looks of it, you’ve had a shit load of submissions from artist….from all over the country. It’s been reported that you have at the current time, seventy-three different groups or artists competing in the contest. Did you expect such a great turnout when you started the contest? That’s a lot of material to comb through, how is the LSP team working through the content? I assume it’s time consuming and a labor of love.

Ended up with 74 even after removing the ones that didn’t make the deadline or didn’t send a complete submission. I was humbled and really thankful for how many people took time to listen, write, record, mix and submit for this. That’s why I’m spending countless hours personally converting files, making em into YouTube videos and getting em uploaded, listening to all of them and trying to give these artists as much love as possible. I honestly expected about half of what we got so that means the world to me.
For the readers who are just learning about the contest, can you tell them what is on the line for the artists and what you plan to do with the top voted submissions?
They get featured on my single and my new album, on all my socials, on our LSP YouTube and on an event of my choice plus even the ones that don’t win get some extra push and exposure and I might be reaching out to some of them to work outside of this contest based on what I hear.
Switching gears for a moment, you just came off a killer performance at the Camp Xul which kicked off earlier this month. What was the experience like, performing at the event?
It was dope, real good vibe and energy….cold as fuck but worth the trip, plus seeing a lot of the artists and homies we haven’t seen since Covid was fucking dope. Shoutout to LLE/MNE for inviting 4 LSP acts to their first Camp Xul Fest and the hospitality while at the event, all respect.
You also just hosted a special event at the ROXY Theatre for Austin Ramos, which was a benefit show. Can you talk about that and let the readers what it was all about?

It was a multi-genre underground unity event for Austin Ramos of Primos Wrestling that got hurt pretty badly during one of the matches…I know accidents happen in a violent sport but while I’m not a huge wrestling fan myself I respect what these wrestlers do fully and understand hurting yourself for the entertainment of others far too well. Joey and PHW are my homies and we have 15+ years history with them so we donated the venue expense free for the night and put together an event with LSP and hardcore wrestling and dope metal bands to help raise some funds for his medical bills. Very good energy and positive vibes all night for sure
On October 13th, the “Say it to my face tour” hit the ROXY Theatre. I caught the “Death by Denver” show earlier this year at the ROXY Theatre, which featured LSP and Ouija Macc. How would you describe your friendship with the homie Ouija? He seems to like doing shows at the ROXY, which is a great venue to see a show (I can say from experience, not a bad seat in the place and the scene appears to be alive and well in Denver).

I’ve had nothing but love for Ouija since Swag Toof days, always enjoyed working with him be it shows or collabs or business and am very happy to see all he’s accomplished and is still getting to…his grind is motivating and that’s definitely one of the most hardworking cats I’m close with.
LSP recently signed Darby O’Trill from Florida and also picked up Devereaux as well. What was the deciding factor in bringing these two amazing artists to the LSP Family?
We are always looking for a new LSP sound, new areas to spread out to and I’ve always enjoyed working with both of them in the past and really feel what they got going, it fits the new era of this LSP sound as this movement is going to live on long after I’m no longer able to tour/rap personally…or so I hope….definitely excited to see what they bring to this saw n axe table, this shit is bout to go hard!
As always ROX-TV has mad love for the LSP Family. I caught up with Cody Manson at the GOTJ 21, when he performed at the Clown Drip Stage. His show was high energy and absolute fire from start to finish. LSP seems to be turning up everywhere these days. What kind of artists does the LSP Family look for when deciding who gets picked up? Is it one item, such as the quality of the product? Or perhaps someone that can also perform well on the stage? Is there a certain trait the artist has to possess like loyalty? Or is it a combination of all three? LSP seems to pick up some great artists that grind the hell out of the scene.
It’s the complete package….music, stage presence, grind, ideas, productivity, promo game, following, fan interaction, ability to travel, etc etc…every artist gets signed for different reasons and they are all different pieces of this saw n axe puzzle. Not all of our signings were perfect, some of the former artists did not work out while some only completed their contracts and I got nothing but love for but I’m really happy with our current roster and believe in all of them fully. And nothing but love for ROX-TV as always!
Any news you want to tease out to the readers tonight? Anything big coming down the line?
New albums from Claas, Darby and Devereaux, Cult Activity, myself, Cody Manson, MMMFD, Beastmode Warriors, so many more in the works….more Experimental Drugs Series signings….tours in the works….music videos….singles….shows, shows, more shows…
That’s about all the time we have for tonight. Again I want to thank you for your time brother, I know the LSP is constantly on the move, working hard for the fans….so thanks for stopping by. Before we wrap it up tonight, who is SCUM shouting out? Any parting words for the fans?
Shoutout to EVERY single person out there fucking with LSP, shoutout to all these artists that took a part in this Dying World Chroniclez contest, shoutout to ROX TV for doing your part to keep this scene alive! Much respect to the underground…no sides, no politics, if you fuck with us, we fuckin with you, RESPEKT!
