ROX-TV’s “Artist Five Series” is back with an author from Flint Michigan who just released the second book in his crime series.
Welcome back to the ROX-TV website. The “Artist Five Series” is back and tonight we have a special guest in the house. Before we get into the interview, I’d like to welcome back all the returning readers and say hello to any first timers here at the website. At ROX-TV, we value the arts and that includes everything from painters, artists, poets, and of course authors. The “Artist Five Series” is dedicated to giving indie artists and authors a space to be seen and their craft to be celebrated. In the house tonight, we have an author from Flint, Michigan named Alfonzo Polk Jr. So kick back and enjoy the interview.
First off, welcome to the ROX-TV website. Please introduce yourself and then if you could tell the readers about your latest release?
Hi everyone, I’m Alfonzo Polk Jr. from Flint Michigan. I’ve just released a new book from my continuing series and its currently available on Amazon.
Nice, well we are happy to have you on the “Artist Five Series” tonight. Since this new release is part of a series, could you start out with a short summary of the first book?
The first release is about twin brothers that were separated at birth. They first meet at their father’s funeral. There father, who was involved in organized crime, was murdered. The brothers unite and they start searching for their father’s killer. In order for the brothers to find out the killer, they have to live life like their father and experience everything that he went through coming up.
What is the name of the first book?
The book is called “We Taking Over”.
It sounds like a good book, who doesn’t like a good organized crime story? We definitely get down with them at ROX-TV. So now that we know a little bit about the first release, can you talk to the readers about the latest drop, what it’s called? Maybe a feel for what the story is like?
Sure, the latest release, which is also on Amazon is called “We Taking Over Again” and it’s the second part of the series that’s being created. What you can expect in each of these books is suspense and the thrill of not knowing what’s coming next or how.
It’s got action, crime drama, and a little bit of sarcasm mixed into each story. I would say that each character from the story line has their own style. Inspiration for the first book came from a dream I had. It was in this dream that I was writing this story and when I woke up, started writing notes on my phone. From those notes and early ideas, the book was born. If you like fast paced action, then these are the books for you. The quick action and drama were definitely by design for maximum effect. I wanted to jump right into the story, off and running. I wanted to give the characters strong voices and personalities.
Did you release this yourself or are you working with a publisher?
I was recently signed to a publishing company called 3KJ Publications. The owner who started it is a great friend of mine who goes by the name Kendalle Nance. He gave me this shot. I told him I had a book I was working on and we sat down and talked about the project and everything went from there.
Well congratulations on both releases. I think the readers at the ROX-TV website who like fast paced action and crime reads will really dig them. Before we wrap things up, do you have any shout outs that you’d like to give?
I would like to thank the fans and readers. I want to shout out Mike, who I couldn’t do this without, we tag teamed each story…bounced ideas off each other and came up with two master pieces. I would also like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for this opportunity. Without him, none of this would be possible. Oh yeah, there are more books in the works so stayed tuned.
