ROX-TV sits down with SMOKE
Welcome back to all our returning readers at the ROX-TV website. Tonight, we have another special guest from the underground, none other than the homie SMOKE. I was able to rap with him in the studio the other night while he was laying down tracks for some upcoming releases. Smoke has been pretty busy lately so we appreciate him taking time to chop it up with the ROX-TV readers. As always, we like to showcase indie artists operating in the Murder Mitten and beyond. So without further to do…..let’s get to it…
Smoke, welcome to ROX-TV. Before we get too deep into the weeds, can you tell everyone where you’re from?
I’m from Detroit, Michigan (currently)

I always enjoy talking to artist about my favorite subject, which is music. So often we focus on what is going on in the moment and rarely take a minute to step back and look at what shaped the now time. Smoke, how old were you when music became something that you really started to notice and dig on? Can you tell us the first group or song that sent you down the dark hallway of the underground?
It all started with the clowns back when I was about ten years old. I was given a Great Milenko cd by a homie. I have been down since hitting the shows, and I’ve always had a passion to make music.
Once you became a fan of the music. How long did it take for you to evolve from a “listener” into an actual “creator”? What was that process like?
Honestly, I just started making music in July, but I have wanted to make music since I was at least 12 years old. I’ve been to too many shows…too many to count. I just always had a feeling that music was my lane. Then I finally decided to do it…
As you started to hone your craft and sharpen your knives so to be speak, at what point did you say to yourself “not only can I do this, I can do it well”, furthering your career as an artist?
There is a Detroit show in April. I got a tour coming up in June. We will be hitting at least 12 states, with other shows possible as well.
I enjoy stimulating my dome from time to time. Personally I run with all of these at various times. As an artist, pick one:
a.) Marijuana b.)psychedelics c.) nitrous
A & B I like to get weird
What does the future hold for SMOKE in 2021 and beyond? Any news or big moves you’d like to tease out to the fans?
I just remastered all my old ones. Dropped a new track called “Misfits” got another track dropping in a week with the homie HB the Grizzly and another banger with Cody Manson. HB the Grizzly is going back to the studio asap to record some material for my album.

ICP and ESHAM
Is there one person in the underground right now that you’d like to work with, collab, or just plain dig what they got going on? Why?
